Food Assistance Programme-1 Distribution In Kashmir, India During The Year 2025
During the year 2025, Care World had the privilege of serving underprivileged families across various districts of the Kashmir division. With generous funding from the funding partner, we successfully distributed 4,636 Food Packs to impoverished and needy individuals, aiming to alleviate their burden during this period. This initiative spanned across six major districts of Kashmir: Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Kulgam, Ganderbal, and Bandipora.
Purpose of the Initiative
is a time of reflection, self-discipline, and increased generosity. However, for many underprivileged families in Kashmir, putting food on the table during this period remains a daily challenge. Recognizing this need, Care World, with the support of the funding partner, undertook a large-scale food pack distribution to ensure that hundreds of families had sufficient food to observe without distress. The objective was to support families struggling with poverty, hunger, and lack of resources, allowing them to observe with dignity and ease.
Districts Covered
The food distribution operation was carried out in six districts of the Kashmir division:
- Srinagar: The capital city witnessed significant food pack distribution, especially in economically disadvantaged areas where access to daily essentials is limited.
- Budgam: Several families in remote and underserved areas of Budgam benefitted from this distribution.
- Pulwama: Known for its rich culture and hardworking communities, Pulwama was also a focus of this initiative to uplift struggling families.
- Kulgam: This southern district, with its considerable population in need, was another key target of our food distribution campaign.
- Ganderbal: Families from Ganderbal, particularly in rural and mountainous regions, were reached and provided with essential food items.
- Bandipora: Our team worked hard to ensure that residents in this northern district also received their share of food packs during.
Contents of the Food Packs
Each food pack was thoughtfully prepared to meet the dietary and nutritional needs of a family. The packs contained:
• Flour
• Cooking oil
• Pulses (lentils, beans, etc.)
• Sugar
• Dates
• Tea
• Salt
• Red Chili
• Turmeric
• Soji
• Vermicelli
These essential food items were selected to ensure that families could prepare nutritious meals for daily meals. The provision of these items was aimed at reducing their financial burden and allowing them to observe their daily routines with peace of mind.
Impact of the Distribution
The distribution of 4,636 Food Packs had a profound impact on the recipient families. Many families expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating that the food packs provided them with much-needed relief. For numerous families who struggled to manage daily meals, the food packs were a beacon of hope and support.
